NTIEC Receives Spitz Foundation Funding

Northern Tier Industry & Education Consortium (NTIEC) is pleased to announce it has been awarded a $4,500 grant from the Robert H. Spitz Foundation, administered by the Scranton Area Community Foundation, to support NTIEC's Work-Based Learning & Career Pathways Program. The grant will help expand career exploration opportunities and connect students throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that prepare them for future careers.

NTIEC serves students across six counties by building strong partnerships between education and industry. Through internships, externships, workplace tours, career experiences, mock interviews, and employer engagement, students gain valuable exposure to high-demand career fields while developing the skills and confidence needed for long-term success.

The Robert H. Spitz Foundation grant will help support program coordination, employer engagement, transportation assistance, educational resources, and career readiness materials that allow students to participate in work-based learning experiences throughout the region. These opportunities help remove barriers to career exploration while strengthening the workforce pipeline for local employers.
