What would it be like to be a surgeon? Well, one of our students was able to find this out! Amelia Farry, a senior at Abington Heights, had the opportunity to witness first-hand two orthopedic surgeries at Wayne Memorial Hospital in Honesdale.
Amelia started a seven-week externship earlier this month through NTIEC’s hospital externship program. She is currently interested in becoming an orthopedic surgeon, so this was an opportunity of a life-time for her. On the experience of being in the OR during the procedures, Amelia had this to say: “It was a truly amazing experience... I was a bit nervous but everyone made me feel extremely comfortable and welcomed!”
NTIEC loves helping students in the area gain experience in their target field and we are so glad Amelia enjoyed her experience at Wayne Memorial.
