Did you know NTIEC offers job shadowing and one-on-ones with a professional for all high school students grades 9-12, regardless of your prospective career?

A job shadow is an excellent way for high school students to test the waters of their desired careers, ask important questions, have meaningful and enlightening conversations with experienced professionals, and gain some hands-on experience in a workplace!

Our talented educational coordinators have connections with employers and professionals all across the area and beyond, and can connect you with an employer or professional, near or far! In the past, NTIEC has helped students have one-on-one conversations with NASA engineers, job shadow an artist, and most recently, tour an electrician’s training facility!

Earlier this month, Julian Krenitsky, a junior at Abington Heights, had the opportunity to participate in an Academic Worksite Tour/One-on-One conversation with Brad Hummel, Training Director at the Scranton Electricians Joint Apprenticeship Training Center in South Abington Township.

During his worksite tour, Julian was able to gain some hands-on experience/observation with basic wiring, installing and bending conduit, cad-welding; was able to learn and ask questions about job site blueprints; and the apprenticeship program offered at the training facility.

Julian was able to have an extremely unique experience learning and working with an experienced professional in the training facility, which will help set him on a successful path to pursuing his dream career!
